Materia Instabile

Materia Instabile is the story of a 28-days-long journey in Iceland.

In 2014, I booked a flight ticket to Reykjavik not knowing what I was about to undertake. It took me almost a year to plan the 806 km solo and unsupported-hike around the Vatnajokull (the biggest glacier in EU).

You may be asking to yourself, why I did that. It is a simple answer: I wanted to challenge myself in a way that I could feel alive. Every single day was different and filled with unknowns. In the middle of nowhere I could have only counted on myself.

By learning to be uncomfortable with uncertainties and planning with constraints (the volume of a 80L backpack) I grow up personally and professionally.

I have faced several challenges, from temperature to shortage of water, from crossing glacier river to a broken tent. I just accepted them and sought the most effective solution for the time being.

Materia Instabile tells my story, a story of trying and pursuing dreams. I have decided to write it in a way that I hope can motivate you to follow your dream and help you accepting barriers. Challenges are the ones that make you moving forward.
